The Cataldo’s and an Over-processed Self-Portrait.
Friends Alex & Sammie Cataldo wanted me to shoot a few photos for their dad’s 50th birthday, I gladly accepted the offer knowing I’d be getting some free cookies to add more mass to my growing winter-weight.
Usually before taking photos anywhere, I take a picture of my self in a reflection nearby, or of my shoes for a quick test. This one was in their living room. I liked how the natural light in the back brought attention to the front. It gave a nice sense of depth and perspective. I added a ton of texture and manipulated colors for an obviously over-processed look. I’m not a fan of heavy editing, but in this photo I went nuts. In the photos of Alex & Sammie I only messed with brightness & contrast and gave them borders.
